Stock ImageIQ for Mac

Point it at a folder of your originals. The app uploads small previews for analysis, never your full-size files, and writes the title, description and keywords back into your photos when you click Write. Same account and same credits as the web app.

Which Mac do I have?

Open the Apple menu and choose About This Mac. If it says Chip: Apple M1 (or M2, M3, M4 …), download Apple Silicon. If it says Processor: Intel, download Intel.

Install

  1. Open the downloaded file and drag STOCK IMAGEIQ into Applications.
  2. Open it from Applications. macOS asks once whether to open an app downloaded from the internet — click Open. The app is signed and checked by Apple.
  3. Sign in with your Stock ImageIQ account, or create one: 50 free credits.

Folder access

When you choose a folder in Desktop, Documents, Downloads or on an external drive, macOS asks whether STOCK IMAGEIQ may access it. Click Allow: the app reads the photos and videos in the folder you choose and, only when you ask it to, writes titles, descriptions and keywords into those files. Clicked Don't Allow? Change it in System Settings → Privacy & Security → Files and Folders.

Updates

The app checks for a new version when it starts. It always asks first — nothing changes until you click Restart and update. To check any time: STOCK IMAGEIQ menu → Check for Updates…

System requirements

Using Windows?

Use Stock ImageIQ in your browser at app.stockimageiq.com. A Windows app is coming later.

Your originals stay on your Mac. Before anything is written, the app checks the new copy of each file, and every write can be reverted from the project.
